Saradise Lost Book 3 - Chapter 24 -- The "Don't Trust Me": Sarah Palin YouTube Phenomenon

NSFW -- Not Safe For Work
Back in 2008, the Boulder Colorado hiphop electronica group, 3Oh!3, came out with their first platinum single, Don't Trust Me. The YouTube of the video version, currently has 5,318,821 views.

Here it is:

Here are the lyrics:

Black dress with the tights underneath,
I got the breath of the last cigarette on my teeth,
And shes an actress (actress),
But she ain't got no need.
Shes got money from her parents in a trust fund back east.
T-t-t-tongues always pressed to your cheeks,
While my tongue is on the inside of some other girls teeth,
T-tell your boyfriend if he says hes got beef,
That I'm a vegetarian and I ain't fucking scared of him.

She wants to touch me (Woah),
She wants to love me (Woah),
She'll never leave me (Woah, woah, oh, oh),
Don't trust a ho,
Never trust a ho,
Won't trust a ho,
Won't trust me.

X's on the back of your hands,
Wash them in the bathroom to drink like the bands.
And your setlist (setlist),
You stole off the stage,
Had red and purple lipstick all over the page.
B-b-b-bruises cover your arms,
Shaking in the fingers with the bottle in your palm.
And the best is (best is),
No one knows who you are,
Just another girl alone at the bar.

She wants to touch me (Woah),
She wants to love me (Woah),
She'll never leave me (Woah, woah, oh, oh),
Don't trust a ho,
Never trust a ho,
Won't trust a ho,
Won't trust me.

Shush girl shut your lips,
Do the Hellen Keller and talk with your hips.
I said, Shush girl shut your lips,
Do the Hellen Keller and talk with your hips.
I said, Shush girl shut your lips,
Do the Hellen Keller and talk with your hips.

Woah, woah, woah...

She wants to touch me (Woah),
She wants to love me (Woah),
She'll never leave me (Woah, woah, oh, oh),
Don't trust a ho,
Never trust a ho,
Won't trust a ho,
Won't trust me

Ten days ago, the YouTube comedian, Shane Dawson (the 13th most subscribed YouTube celebrity of all time), did an incredibly down-and-dirty cover of 3Oh!3's original.

Dawson's (1,777,609 views) is titled "Don't Trust Me": Sarah Palin:

Dawson's video and the question he asks his young followers (at 2:26 in the video), "So, if you could be president of this country for one day, what would you change about this country?" have engendered many video responses. 123, as of noon today. Most are short answers by kids to Dawson's question.

The webcam video posts range from the demented commenting upon the demented:

To fairly serious attempts to describe what one might do if president for one day:

But they're mostly inanely vapid - or worse. Here's a link to the lyrics.

Of the 20 most recently posted YouTube videos on Palin, five relate to Don't Trust Me, three are miscellaneous Sarah bashings, three are kids' impressions of Palin, two are re-posts of eminem's Palin video from months ago, two are animations featuring Palin, two are from strange Palin supporters and three are hard to define or categorize.

Serious YouTubes, posted by SarahPAC, Conservatives4Palin and Palin supporter John Ziegler, have all but disappeared lately. And YouTubes of nationally prominent people supporting Sarah Palin in either her resignation or in support of her future role in American politics haven't seen any new entries for days.

Anyone who doubts that Sarah Palin's eclipse from serious politics into some weird new chapter of her life is real, can see ample evidence on YouTube of her demise. And even more ample evidence of my longstanding thesis - that Sarah Palin is the biggest political joke of the 21st century.

The fact that Palin has become the butt of so many sexually-oriented jokes in the alternative media hasn't been scrutinized nearly as closely as the few incidents that have arisen in the mainstream media about coverage that was in decidedly poor taste by mainline comedians, such as David Letterman. I'm not sure why that is, but the subject seems to be important, even if Palin truly is in eclipse.

Along these same lines, but from a completely different angle, Steve at whatdoIknow? looks at claims - some undoubtedly well-founded - of sexism toward Palin in coverage of her political life.

While I do deplore the many sexist jokes about Sarah Palin, I feel compelled to point out that at least some of this treatment has been self-inflicted.

Maybe if she did not wear red Naughty Monkey heels and mini skirt (to a Memorial service) and dispensed with the hair extensions, she would be taken more seriously. As unfair as it might seem, it is hard to correlate her sexy clothes and winking with being a serious politician. Of couse, when she opens her mouth and babbles, things go even further down hill.
I think it is great that Sarah is in shape and can wear sexy clothes, I really do - but there is a time and place for it (NOT when acting as a Governor or a contender for high office).

I found a theme song for Quitter Twitter's latest twit. She is dangerous to herself and everyone near her.

I think this is because she does not carry herself with any dignity, grace, nor sophistication.

She acts like the undereducated ---(please note you can be educated wi thout going to any university. Many well read people are far more educated than many with degrees)---
unthinking, bigoted, biased, manipulating trash that she is.

Palin herself treats herself like a physical object: beauty pagents, silly poses in Runners Magazine, her willingness to get down and dirty (attacks on Obama during campaign) her inability to refer to him as PRESIDENT Obama--

Everything she does is on the beauty pagent, bar maid, trashy level ( no offense to bar maids here, but the pagent people you betcha.)

If she acted like a lady, she would be treated like a lady. And yes, "ladies" can be sexy too. (Lauren Bacall, Ingrid Bergman, Katheryn Hepburn.)

Instead Palin is just cheap and stupid.
