I was talking to Homer girl, Shannyn Moore yesterday, about the wildfire near Homer. Her dad lives near the fire area, which has threatened three Old Believer villages, Kachemak Selo, Razdoina and Voznesenka. Apparently, cooler weather and lighter winds today have lessened the seriousness of the danger. The Anchorage Daily News has some fairly comprehensive coverage, by Megan Holland.

My brother and his family live out East End Road, as well, although only at about Mile 7. I hope they get buckets of rain down there.
