Tuesday Arts & Art Dump

40 of 116 orchestral parts for Hindu Kush are ready for the professional printer, with a further 57 ready for final editing and splitting (into first & second bassoon parts, from a single stave, for instance). Almost done with my longest orchestral work in 25 years:

Mariano Gonzales' exhibit at Out North Theater, which will be open through the third week of March:

Ice in the sun on Neklason Lake:

The ACO records all their concerts. We'll keep in touch.

While listening to Bamyan Voids, my mind suddenly imagined the burning of the library at Alexandria.

anon @ 10:28 a.m: Which burning?

It was burned or destroyed at least four times:

Perhaps accidentally by Caesar in 48 BC

By Aurelian in AD 274, during the Zenobian revolt

By the patriarch Theophilus around 391 AD

By Amir ibn al 'Aas, after the battle of Heliopolis in 642.
