Saradise Lost - Book 4 - Chapter 39 - Is the CW Making $$$Thousands Selling Her Own Book to Her Own PAC?

ABC is reporting that Sarah Palin's political action committee bought thousands of copies of Going Rogue:

The former Alaska governor and 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate had her political organization spend more than $63,000 on what her reports describe as "books for fundraising donor fulfillment." The payments went to Harper Collins, her publisher, and in some instances to HSP Direct, a Virginia-based direct mail fundraising firm that serves a number of well-known conservative politicians and pundits.

Two questions have come up at a diary on this at Daily Kos - does she collect royalties as part of her Harper-Collins contract; and if she is pulling royalty profits from her own book out of her own political action committee, isn't that illegal?

Apparently, the open and transparent Palin has refused to divulge whether or not royalty payments are part of her contract deal for the book.

She was asking 100 donation for these books if I recall correctly. So she makes a profit twice. From the difference between her cost and the donation, and possibly from Harper Collins in royalty fees.

I think royalty fee scales go up the more books you sell.
