No living Alaskan has fought harder for women's and civil rights in Alaska than has Diane Benson. As recently as late 2009, she has had to endure mistreatment and false characterization in the Alaska press. Yet she keeps fighting. There are many civil rights heroes in Alaska today, but here's my present for her on a day Diane fully understands:
