Saradise Lost - Book 2 - Chapter 68 -- Palin's Biggest Lie Yet?

From the Governor's press release upon today's publication of the results of Andree McLeod's request for clarification of aspects of Alaska's Executive Ethics Ordinances:

In the past two years, the state of Alaska has spent millions of dollars processing ethics complaints, public records requests, and related lawsuits.

I suspect that statement is complete bullshit. Millions of dollars means from $2,000,000.00 on up, if I am correct.

I challenge Alaska's mainstream media to attempt to determine just how much this
has cost Alaska taxpayers, and to have it broken down, case by case. Sean Cockerham and I have been rebuffed, as we sought to get Palin's attorney to answer simple questions about her own legal bills. But this is state money she is claiming to have spent herself, on our behalf. It is undoubtedly a public matter.

But getting that information, I am sure the Alaska Department of Law will claim, might cost somewhere between $25 million and $75 million, should they choose to use the formulas they've claimed to initially be relevant in the cases of Rick Steiner ($468,784.00) and Linda Kellen ($65,000.00).

Palin just makes shit up as she goes, and gets away with it way too often.

Come on, ADN, KTUU, APRN, Juneau and Fairbanks outlets - a dare you to get some accountability out of Palin on this claim of over $2,000,000.00!

Phil,

I share your opinion that the statement is utter crap.

But the Palin administration will undoubtedly put a price tag of tens (if not hundreds) of thousands of dollars on any request made by a member of the public to prove otherwise.

"Transparency" my ass.

Phil, I apologize for being off-topic, but, I noticed your inquiry re: Willow attendance at the ballgame. I am fairly confident that the beginning of the timeline lies with C4P, who posted an apoplectic note the next morning first linking Willow to the ballgame and the joke. This was before any Palin statement, and before the Zeigler interview. They may have updated the post a few times, but the original should bear the time stamp of when it was first posted, shouldn't it?

Anyway, I'm pretty sure they started the faux outrage, and GINO/ Meg S. found out and just ran with it.

I wanted to e-mail this info to you
privately, but was unable to find an e-mail link on your blog. Feel free to delete.

I read your posts but generally do not comment, so here goes--I would also like to see a post and or an article about other Governors who needed to establish a legal defense fund and one that included covering expenses for family and friends.

Just my thoughts.

Thank you for posting this. She does seem to confuse amounts SHE spent with amounts the state spent and make references to them interchangeably.

I hope the media asks for the exact amounts. Great idea to challenge them!

Maybe the national media could get into the act, also, too.

Let's all say together now:

"I will do whatever I want until a court tells me I can't."

S. Palin Re: $50,000 spent on redecorating her mayor's office without approval.

That's it now, that's how it's going to be, and ain't nothing going to change it except a judge.

Our legislators had the chance to stop her by putting some teeth into their guilty finding wrt Monegan/Wooten investigation and they limp-dicked out.

Every one of them and I include Les Gara as well. He talks big but walks with a 'little stick.'

Am I pissed. You betcha !

What job to be a "checks and balances" to the executive branch?

Every damn one of them sold out.

Ok, I need some company here. I am feeling really "freaked out" like either someone needs to hold me or I need a straight shot of whiskey.

Read Bob Lynn's blog site and while YOU may not feel as I do right now, I sure do and I am NOT one to have weird feelings like this.

http://www.alaskadistrict31.blogspot.com/
This is Bob Lynn, blog site.
Look at comments under the section titled: "PRESS RELEASE"

Either we got a real nut case making some comments on a few blogs, OR we got someone who has a real case that is in the works against Palin and maybe involving more than one area i.e. IRS, DOJ, sex abuse ( YEAH !) and Harvard University (???)

My feeling is this is an older person i.e. over 55, who has suffered and/or has had guilt over something in the past and is now ready to "stand up on his /her hind legs" and regain their dignity and self-respect.

Hard to explain. Better to read this blog for yourself.

The Catholic church reference made me immediately think of the sexual abuse by priests scandals.

Keep at it Phil. To make matters worse millions could be truthful if our cost is even a penny north of one million, not that I trust any number she gives but millions sounds a lot worse than $1,000,000.01.

I believe that something legal will bring her down. No one lives like SP and acts like SP and has no closets with skeletons in them.
The fact is, she is a HUGE problem but she is Alaska's problem and for some strange way, they seem to think it's cool or o.k. to have a Gov. who is a giant joke (and a freakshow as well).
Undoubtedly somewhere along the line, SP did something that someone is going to use against her. I have no idea what it is - or who knows what - but she is a walking lawsuit looking for a place to file.

As long as she stays above the Lower 48 I don't care what she says or does.

She is hardly the "future" of the Republic Party. She can raise a ton of money, but from what I've read recently, ONLY in Alaska. The people in the Lower 48 spoke loudly in Nov 2008 and sent her packing.

She is what she is - nothing more. And she will NEVER be anything more.

And if Alaskans want to continue to allow her to blow all their money and possibly skim off state funds, and run these petty little scams on local government, then it's up to them to fix it.

I honestly believe there are a LOT of little icebergs out there - some which might not amount to much, but together Miss Monkey Shoes will fall off her perch.

You cannot live a life like she has and not have skeletons! She is too "out there". You have to believe that someone KNOWS something about her she is not happy about.

Ahahaha..you are joking right? You can't honestly believe that these guys will step up to the plate and do any real investigation of Palin and anything she or her adminstration says or does do you? Seriously??

I mean it is a nice thought and all, but they have proven their inability to be "real" reporters/investigators.
