At the Cottonwood Creek Flats Today

This afternoon, Judy, Strider and I hiked through the flats where Cottonwood Creek finally meets its destiny. We live near the creek system's headwaters, and have lived near one part or another of Cottonwood Creek for the past 24 years.

We were looking for the very elusive white Siberian iris. I hoped to take some photos. There used to be some out on the flats trail, about a mile or so from the parking lot. We couldn't find any. It was a great hike, though, with major detours around marshy lengths of the trail, because I forgot my Extra Tuffs.
