Deborah Williams & Jonathan Teeters to Speak at Today's Mat-Su Democrats' Egan Dinner

Deborah Williams, the new Executive Director of the Alaska Democratic Party, and Jonathan Teeters, the Alaska Director of Organizing for America, will be the guest speakers at the June Egan Dinner, the monthly gathering of the Mat-Su Democrats.

The event starts at 6:00 p.m. at the Glacier Canyon Grill, on the bottom floor of the Grandview Inn, in Wasilla (across from Lowe's on the Parks Highway).

Deborah has recently finished the transition from her global warming news and action network, to her new job of continuing to build a more dynamic, responsive Alaska Democratic Party.

Jonathan has been in Alaska since 2007, helping organize the Obama campaign up here, then working for the Democratic National Committee, and now heading up the Alaska branch of Organizing for America. Here are some of OFA's goals:

1. Legislative Issue Organizing to help get the Obama administration's agenda enacted.

2. Electoral Reform to ensure that well-trained, talented Democrats rise through the ranks and are elected at every level of government.

3. Two-way communication between grassroots networks and administration.

4. Civic Engagement at the local level to help people themselves and build stronger neighborhoods and communities.

Come join us this evening at 6:00, as we work on bringing people-friendly, family-friendly, middle-class-friendly political change back to the Mat-Su area, and Alaska
