Come Join the Mat-Su Democrats Tomorrow at the Palmer Colony Days Parade

The Mat-Su Area Democrats will be marching in the 2009 Palmer Colony Days Parade, Saturday morning.

We'll be getting together about 10:00 a.m. on So. Valley Way, behind the old railroad depot in downtown Palmer. The parade starts at 11:00 a.m.

Come Join Us!

Are there going to be any children marching in the Democrats group that can be posted on right wing extremists blogs without their parents permission?

Anon@9:31, I don't know the answer to your question specifically, but as a child, I grew up riding on Democratic floats in another state. One time I had to stand with a donkey and hay--seriously. My photo was taken by everyone who took photos of floats in small town parades.

That was the point. My parents knew that. Symbolically, I represented the future of the Democratic party. That's how it works. I enjoyed it, too. And I turned out just fine.

NOTE TO PARENTS: If you can't take the heat, don't do public demonstrations with your kids.

That's the point.

You whine about the right exploiting their children for political purposes and then exploit your own for your own more enlightened political purposes.

Or you whine about the right exploiting their children, and then you exploit the very same children on your left wing blog.

This just is another example of a long list of examples of hypocrisy on the left.

anon @ 2:01 p.m. - how can one illustrate how these children of the right are abused by being bused to public demonstrations and drummed into shouting, angry lineups along or in the street, without showing the images?

If we just described the images in words, we would be accused of making shit up.

Anon@2:01, I wasn't exploited; I am the poster @ 9:52 a.m.. I don't know what you are talking about. My parents took responsibility for me. They were on the float with me!

That's the point. Take responsibility for your kids.

I think it's quite amazing how blind you "progressives" are to your own hypocrisy.

You say the kids who are there with their parents practicing democracy about something that they passionately believe to be right are being exploited.

So, then you exploit them yourselves because you have a right to do that..."they were at a public event so they are fair game". Fair game for what...exploitation?

My kids weren't there so this is not some personal beef that I have. My issue is with he blind hypocrisy that is often practiced by both the left and the right.

I have probably been reading Phil's blog much longer than most of his readers, (pre-Palin), and he generally tries to see the other side's point of view even if he doesn't agree with it. I think he will even come around on this issue.

I would have to say that the close up shot of the kid was over the exploitation. I don't know this kid and he may be proud of his photo, but using it is still a little too much. You could easily have made the story with some of the more general photos.
