Light Posting at Progressive Alaska for Awhile

I've built up a huge backlog of musical work that needs to be attended. Here is the list of musical compositions I've placed on the back burner because of political blogging:

An Elizabeth Peratrovich Portrait: for narrator and orchestra, based on Diane Benson's monologue.

Bootlicking Odes: A song cycle about lackey journalists, with lyrics by David Cheezem.

Symphony No. 5: for large orchestra. A war symphony

Oonalaska Quartet: for trumpet, French horn, trombone and piano. A set of sketches based on my journeys to the Aleutian Islands. Commissioned by the Chugach Brass Trio at UAA

Spring Songs: A song cycle based on poems about spring

Autumn Songs: A similar cycle, based on autumn. Completing these two will complete my seasonal set of songs.

Brass Quintet No. 3

Revise and re-orchestrate The Skies Are Weeping: for European performances. The original is orchestrated for seven percussionists and piano, with small chorus and soprano. This will be set for symphony orchestra, large chorus and soprano.
I've also got to set up a new web site for my music, which is currently unavailable on the web.

Meanwhile, there's my enhanced work schedule, which also is leaving less time for political blogging. And a lot of musical rehearsals and performances. Here is the schedule for a number of upcoming performances by the University of Alaska Wind Ensemble, in which I am playing euphonium this year:

Monday, November 8, at 7:00 PM: East High School

Tuesday, November 9, at 7:00 PM: Chugiak High School

Wednesday, November 10, at 7:00 PM: Begich Middle School

Friday, November 12, at 9:00 AM: Romig Middle School

Monday, November 15, at 7:00 PM: Dimond High School

All of these concerts are free.

Don't always comment but read you religiously. (especially for a non-religious person)

Yes. Get to work on that music!

It is your music that will leave you immortal - even though you will be dead and unable to enjoy your immortality...

Blog as need be, but don't let it overwhelm your work...

I know whereof I speak.
