The Crazy Woman Was For the Death Panel Before She Was Against It

The Crazy Woman (I'm starting to capitalize the term, which is starting to show up on other blogs) used the language in one of the versions of proposed national health care legislation, to come up with her nutty, attention whore statement last week:

"[W]ho will suffer the most when they ration care? The sick, the elderly, and the disabled, of course. The America I know and love is not one in which my parents or my baby with Down Syndrome will have to stand in front of Obama’s “death panel” so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their 'level of productivity in society,' whether they are worthy of health care."

As I wrote early this week, she may have been projecting guilt over her own severe maltreatment child abuse of her youngest child. And I also speculated that she may be haunted by her large part in the responsibility for the negligence in health care in Alaska that has led to at least 254 deaths.

The concept the Crazy Woman tried to embrace in that facebook entry has been thoroughly debunked. Now, as it turns out, the blog Think Progress has discovered that Palin herself used almost identical language to that in the contemplated health care legislation, when making a proclamation (two days before her mistreated son's birth) back when she was failing in her most recent job:

[O]n April 16th 2008, then Gov. Sarah Palin endorsed some of the same end of life counseling she now decries as a form of euthanasia. In a proclamation announcing “Healthcare Decisions Day,” Palin urged public facilities to provide better information about advance directives, and made it clear that it is critical for seniors to be informed of such options:

WHEREAS, Healthcare Decisions Day is designed to raise public awareness of the need to plan ahead for healthcare decisions, related to end of life care and medical decision-making whenever patients are unable to speak for themselves and to encourage the specific use of advance directives to communicate these important healthcare decisions. [...]

WHEREAS, one of the principal goals of Healthcare Decisions Day is to encourage hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, continuing care retirement communities, and hospices to participate in a statewide effort to provide clear and consistent information to the public about advance directives, as well as to encourage medical professionals and lawyers to volunteer their time and efforts to improve public knowledge and increase the number of Alaska’s citizens with advance directives.

WHEREAS, the Foundation for End of Life Care in Juneau, Alaska, and other organizations throughout the United States have endorsed this event and are committed to educating the public about the importance of discussing healthcare choices and executing advance directives.

The Think Progress article goes on to observe that the proclamation has somehow been conveniently removed from the State of Alaska web site.

I love the Crazy Woman handle. It's much nicer than what I've been using! Sarah should thank you personally for holding back. Oh, I forgot - she only says Thanks when she really means No Thanks. And then No Thanks, when she really means Thanks. She's a silly little dim bulb - and more ridiculous (more ridiculed) than anyone I can think of right now!

Surely not more ridiculous than a man who claims doctors rip children's tonsils out just to make money ? Surely not more ridiculous than a man who promises a "post partisan America" and then starts a snitch line for people to inform on their neighbors & friends? Surely not more ridiculous than a man who says "I don't know all the facts" but then says "the police were stupid"? Surely not more ridiculous than a man who clams doctors amputate limbs just to make money ?

Happily, the feeling is mutual. I'd hate it if my friends acted "silly" and spewed stuff like this about a woman who's politics they didn't agree with...

"attention whore"
"rotting from the inside out"
"She was behind the church fire"
"She attempted to murder her own son"
"she feeds into ALL hate"
"she is a RACIST"
"she is a racist freako"
"she is EVIL"

Nice people.

Next to New Jersey, I think Alaska has the most corrupt government.

However, in New Jersey, it is ALL about greed and the mob is involved.

Here, it is ALL about hate, mental illness, fear, big egos and also about greed.

Palin has NO problem saying the opposite on day two of what she said on day one. This is TYPICAL of those suffering Narcissistic Personality Disorder. They quite literally feel that the reality the perceive on any given day is the "real" reality, even if it contradicts what they perceived reality to be on a previous day.

It is NOT that she thinks we are all stupid enough to believe her contradictory statements. It is that she is REALLY AND TRULY MENTALLY ILL I.E. NPE AND HER MIND DOES NOT NEED LOGIC OR RATIONAL THINKING IN ORDER FOR HER TO "THINK."

It is very frustrating to the rest of us and dangerous when that person has political/religious influence and wishes to use their influence in negative ways.

Please remember: the subject at hand is not the real issue. The real issue is Palin's goal of "world domination" ( a bit of facetiousness here) and the specific means she uses to achieve that goal will continue to be frustrating and impossible to understand because PALIN DOES NOT HAVE A STABLE PSYCHOLOGY AND LOGIC AND REASON THEREFORE MEAN NOTHING TO HER !

Politics just happen to be the "stage" upon which her personal "play" is being performed upon. As such, it is extremely public and being public ON A NATIONAL LEVEL is why her eventual fall with be so dramatic.

Thought Experiment: Sit quietly alone in a room and try and think about what actually goes on in her head (factoring in the NPD criteria.)

This is a very very fearful, anxious, angry, vindictive and ego driven human being approaching criticle mass.

Unlike "normal" NPD sufferers, she has no place to run to and to get away from the negative feedback from the world and way to receive positive feedback ( i.e. narcissistic supply.)

NOW, with Bristol, obviously, refusing to continue to be an ambassador for abstinence, Willow, apparently, becoming a party girl, Track in the army to avoid drugs/jail time, a special needs baby, her HUSBAND ABOUT TO DIVORCE HER, losing the "power" of being governor, the republican party turning against her, her popularity now below 40% and on and on and one, this very psychologically unstable person has a lot on her plate.

Palin is not the kind to suffer these "outrages" ( to her) quietly.

I have no doubt there has been physical acts of violence in that family for years, mainly due to Missy Palin's NPD.

Don't let that outward facade fool you. THINK HOW ANGRY SHE MUST BE! HOW LONG CAN SHE KEEP THAT ANGER TAMPED DOWN?

Critical mass.

Critical Mass.

P.S. and Hollis French could have gotten rid of her with his troopergate report, but he didn't want to "upset her base" knowing he planned to run for Governor. Well Hollis, in m y book, that makes you just as self centered as Palin. Neither Palin, nor French care about Alaska, just their own career progress.

Oh Anon - I could spout much worse about right wing followers, leaders and we could be here for a year or so. Our president has the ability to be humble, and apologizes when found to have said a really dumb thing! Which he most certainly has! Move on.

You have a lot of anger, and this is not the place to defuse, or debate you over every statement you made which I believe is incorrect. I gave up on that months ago - it's a waste of time until both sides are willing to listen, and I've yet to find a serious right leaning person willing to talk to this very centrist person. They are the side which has left the table of discussion.

I enjoy my Alaska bloggers and read them all, left and right. And yes, it's absolutely a fabulous idea that we don't try to be friends! You really ought to go enjoy yourself more, and find blogs where you don't have to be so grumpy.

Meanwhile, in the big, wide world away from the misogynist swamp that seems to be "progressive" Alaska, we have this......

"A memo obtained by the Huffington Post confirms that the White House and the pharmaceutical lobby secretly agreed to precisely the sort of wide-ranging deal that both parties have been denying over the past week.

The memo, which according to a knowledgeable health care lobbyist was prepared by a person directly involved in the negotiations, lists exactly what the White House gave up, and what it got in return.

It says the White House agreed to oppose any congressional efforts to use the government's leverage to bargain for lower drug prices or import drugs from Canada -- and also agreed not to pursue Medicare rebates or shift some drugs from Medicare Part B to Medicare Part D, which would cost Big Pharma billions in reduced reimbursements.

In exchange, the Pharmaceutical Researchers and Manufacturers Association (PhRMA) agreed to cut $80 billion in projected costs to taxpayers and senior citizens over ten years. Or, as the memo says: "Commitment of up to $80 billion, but not more than $80 billion."

Isn't it illegal for the POTUS to enter into a secret deal with a corporation? Especially an "evil" corporation like those nasty drug companies you all hate. HOPE AND CHANGE !!!

Trolls are just that.

The proclamation has not disappeared from the State of Alaska, Governor's office website. You click on press releases and then go to the archives and keep getting the next 100 until you get to April 2008. It was right there.

None of the older proclamations, etc. are gone, just not easy to find. I think it has to do more with website design than the "editing" of history.

It certainly does not make sense to be for having a day for advance directives and now suddenly to be against it. Advance directives in no way help to promote death panels or anything else. Advance directives and the choice of hospice care (when the time is appropriate) allow an individual to state how they want to live or die and what measures should or should not be taken under particular circumstances.

I have had to re-do my directives and who I have appointed because I do not trust my mother to go through with my instructions because of her own beliefs and her own fears concerning dying.

I urge you all to complete advance directives so that if you are in an accident (or become ill) and cannot speak for yourself, you can have your wishes carried out. Speak with the persons you appoint in a very detailed, scenario specific manner so that it is clear to them what you want under certain circumstances and so that if they cannot carry out your wishes or are uncomfortable doing so, you can appoint someone who will act on your behalf in the manner you wish.

This is not a pleasant task and is not easy, but is VERY necessary.

I hate to say this but what is inconsistent about Palin's comments?
Surely you can see the difference between VOLUNTARY, PRIVATE counselling for end-of-life arrangements which Palin advocated and MANDATORY, GOVERNMENT panels getting involved as part of a healthcare cost restructuring program which Palin is against. Again, what is the problem ?

Anonymous said...

Palin may be "crazy" as you all say but she certainly has an effect. Does anyone doubt that it was her intervention that led to this statement..

"The Senate Finance Committee will drop a controversial provision on consultations for end-of-life care from its proposed healthcare bill, its top Republican member said Thursday.

The committee, which has worked on putting together a bipartisan healthcare reform bill, will drop the controversial provision after it was derided by conservatives as “death panels” to encourage euthanasia.

“On the Finance Committee, we are working very hard to avoid unintended consequences by methodically working through the complexities of all of these issues and policy options,” Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) said in a statement. “We dropped end-of-life provisions from consideration entirely because of the way they could be misinterpreted and implemented incorrectly.”

So now every one has to see an attorney and pay thru the nose to have these forms filled out and properly signed?? What a farce.Don't people even realise how much this would save them finicially. My mom and dad paid thousands for a will and health care and finacial and end of life provisions.Even with all that no one informed my parents tha they should have someone signed into their banking accounts so when they did pass the account could be used to pay bills or be closed out.You have to do this because once you die the financial papers are no longer valid they only applly for if you can not handle things yourself.Afriend told me this from her mothers experiance and I went with my dad to have it done.It can only be used after death,I had no way to use any funds until after death

To the poster who said the End of Life stuff is out, it's not out yet. And no, it was not a healthy discussion and a lot of people freaked out. She's a divider and a snot. Anon @ 4:43 PM (whom I'm assuming isn't the Anon troll): I hate to say this but what is inconsistent about Palin's comments?

Well, as has already been pointed out, they are 180 degrees different from 1 year 4 months ago -- and at that time she didn't even provide for state funding for her recommended health care directives. She was just saying, "do it yourselves". But it's not that simple, if you don't want to have your wishes challenged.

If the citizens of Alaska followed up on her recommendations for obtaining a properly filled out, signed, notarized and witnessed health care directive, they probably would have to pay a lawyer to draw one up that would satisfy the authorities when the time came to enact those directives.

When the lawyer bills @ $200/hour, think of the money that could have been saved had that one provision stayed in the health care reform bill...

Surely you can see the difference between VOLUNTARY, PRIVATE counselling for end-of-life arrangements which Palin advocated and MANDATORY, GOVERNMENT panels getting involved as part of a healthcare cost restructuring program which Palin is against. Again, what is the problem ?

1) There is NO MANDATORY GOVERNMENT PANEL of any kind. Period. So, both you and Palin completely missed the mark on that one.

2) What the GOVERNMENT has proposed to get involved in, with regards to counselling for end-of-life arrangements, is PAYMENT FOR SERVICES to the entity that provides that counselling. That means the doctor, or some other qualified person, would receive compensation for their services not out of the family's pocket but from Medicare/the government.

3) This counselling service can be REFUSED by families or the failing terminally ill or aged family member. That means, of course, that no one will be paid by the government. No one NEEDS to be paid by the government. The government will remain in the background providing the usual Social Security checks and Medicare payments, and will otherwise not "interfere" with their ghastly compensation to end-of-life counsellors.

It's pretty simple, really.

Snowing in Alaska said...

Hey Anon - there is a difference with progressives that you should know about. We don't do the clubhouse thing as well as we should. We could take lessons from conservatives on that score. We tend to be a lot more individualistic and make up our own minds. It's probably one of the hugest differences of all between our parties or attitudes, and denying it will never fix it.

As a matter of record, I don't think Nancy Pelosi is the right person for that job. I have not been very happy with her, either. She's too partisan. However, my experience tells me that conservatives won't like anyone in that position being the NO party if they are a Democrat. No to everything. So I don't take much seriously from the right - too much in lock step with each other and not enough thinking going on.

We aren't comparing the Twit to Nancy Pelosi, or President Obama - only conservatives do that. They are not one and the same to me, and never will be. I can't stand Sarah Palin and I will always oppose her because she is a lying, snotty twit. Period. I know it's hard to try to connect the dots and make it someone else's fault, but for us, there are no dots - just a disingenuous, ambitious for all the wrong reasons, whack job wench who has no business in politics or creating policy.

This could be part of the problem in the family as Todd and children may be reading some of the story and not agreeing with her assessments. When her book is out, can you imagine the locals and members of her inner circle who will be upset with being included, not be included or portrayed wrongly? Then the s--t will hit the fan!

Hi Phil: Evidently you have attracted the attention of a troll. Unfortunate but the Crazy Woman has a long reach. It would probably be better if she actually had a functioning neuron, but I guess we have to settle for people who come in and try and defend her consistently insane behavior and her ghostwritten comments.
She is a private citizen. She doesn't deserve attention and she certainly no longer speaks for Alaska.

She is also very dangerous. When you have NPD and are being driven by others, you tend to be destructive.

Her administration already killed over 250 people in the State Run Medicaid System under her red pen. She already is dripping with the blood of Alaska's senior and sick citizens.

It is possible and legal to go to a local Hallmark or Card store and obtain a Living Will and Medical Power of Attorney papers. It is not necessary to have an attorney, you just need a notary public and make gazillions of copies - carry one with you. That is the only way that in an emergency or end of life, physicians and faciities will know what you wish.

The problem with SP being a politician is that at some point in time she's going to have to actually open that mouth and speak. Since she is not capable of engaging her brain and her mouth at the same time (sorry Todd), she is her own worst enemy in public.

Her neglect and mistreatment of Alaskan citizens is well known to all. She has a very tiny delicate base, and it isn't growing. In fact, there's a fair amount of giggling from her previous fans, since she's out of the limelight now. People are starting to notice they are worshipping at the feet of an idol sitting in a garage with a night light and a husband sleeping on a couch waiting for the party girls to come home.

She has nothing. She is no one.

It took her 5 years to get one silly degree - and it's been said by some of her classmates that they passed her just to get rid of her.

Alaska is glad she's gone. The air is now fresher and sweeter, with that odor of sulphur finally blown away.

Hope and change !!

Sarah Palin will say whatever she thinks will garner support from her base, and whatever sounds good at the time, especially if it is something that will go against the President she is so very jealous of.

Her latest complaints that pointing out her hypocrisy of condemning the advance directive provision in the Health Care Bill and her own proclamation done last year is like comparing apples to oranges shows that she hasn't got a clue and neither does the person writing her statements for her. This is simply another spin job done in order to explain her latest hypocritical remarks.

The only difference between the two is she suggested that Doctors and Lawyers volunteer their services while the Health Care Bill wanted to ensure that the Doctors were paid for by Medicaid/Medicare rather than the patient for these services. It's funny that she herself didn't pass up the opportunity to collect monies for living in her own home, and did nothing "for free", yet she wants others to offer that service. It is also pertinent to point out that she only "suggested" that members of the medial and legal field offer their services, which provided no guarantee that they would do so.

To suggest that a patient was going to be counseled on ending their life early or be given less than good care due to this provision was disingenuous and more to the point an outright lie. People who are unscrupulous will no doubt counsel on extending care/or offering care that is not needed simply to make a few extra dollars. Care for the sick and elderly is much more apt to bring in money than caring for healthy individuals would be. Doctors and Lawyers offer options and the patients along with family and friends make the final decision on these matters and the doctors and lawyers are in play to ensure that these specific wishes are carried out.

Phil, you insult all the crazy women out there by putting Sarah Palin into the same category. Frankly, most crazy women can be cured thru tradition and medicinal therapies; for Sarah Palin... not so much hope for a cure.

Personally, my preference is for cb handle to be something closer to "Wasilla Asshat."

Have to love a (presumably) mature person talking about "sea of pee" and then accusing others of "actually rather juvenile."
