FOX News Does It Again!

There is a long list of times that FOX TV News has turned recently discredited Republicans into Democrats on the reader board at the bottom of their screen. Most recently before this, they tagged Idaho U.S. Senator Larry Craig as a Democrat. Several times.

Here they've tagged St. Ted as a Democrat. I doubt most people who watch FOX News regularly are bright enough to catch the discrepancy.

And I doubt most Alaskans are aware that several top FOX executives and producers of programming for FOX stars like Bill O'Reilly, are contributing, through a neo-con dominated PAC, to one candidate in Alaska. Ethan Berkowitz.

Here's how I described this PAC to Ethan over the phone back in April
, when I first raised my concerns about it to him:

The donors to this PAC who gave Berkowitz $10,000 in the first quarter of 2008, reads like a "who's who" list of supporters of war with Iran, defenders of the worst aspects of our health care industry, opponents of net neutrality, and enablers of the financial deregulation that allows hedge fund managers to be taxed very little, and who helped engineer the sub-prime mortgage industry meltdown. The list includes the producer of Bill O'Reilly's radio show, several Fox executives, war criminal Henry Kissinger's main business partner, and a whole host of other people who make Alaska's Corrupt Bastard Club look like a kindergarten roster.

Berkowitz has told me twice now that he isn't concerned about where this PAC's donors might be coming from, and what they want from their funding recipients, stating that he hopes to keep taking their money, and that having taken it, he will remain 100% free of influence from the donors. I've been critical of him for this, to say the least. And will remain critical, as campaign funding, especially of U.S. House candidates, is a very weak link in the American Democratic process.

Here's another FOX contribution to our Democratic Process, folks:

How many will think he's from Arkansas?

On FOX - everyone who isn't from Alaska or Arkansas. Then, again - it is FOX. Maybe even some in AK and AR won't get it.

Fox news: Fair and balanced. Since so many republicans have been in trouble it only makes sense to call some of them democrats so it can stay "balanced". It's not that hard Phil.

Phil, despite the comments you got the other day about your regular harping about Rahm's pac, including the point that that pac gave to a pac that gave to Benson, you continue here.

I realize you are a musician and not a natural or social scientist by training, but there is a big difference between correlation and cause and effect. You are taking a correlation (Rahm's Pac and Berkowitz' campaign) and turning it into cause and effect (Rahm gives Berkowitz money therefore Berkowitz is now a pawn of Rahm.)

Sort of what Fox does a lot too.

Sort of what Rahm does a lot, too, Steve. At least as high a percentage of success in his field of controlling his "boys" as Fox is at controlling their reporters.

sort of like what fox news does, except munger isn't lying and intending to deceive anyone.
