New Progressive Alaska Feature Added - Progressive TV Links

Progressive Alaska has added its first links to outside media. War reporting, in particular, by our Alaska Television stations, the national networks, and by the mainstream cable or satellite outlets like CNN, MSNBC, and the often despicable FOX, doesn't come close to informing the American or Alaskan people of what is going on in the world.

PA has added Democracy Now, GoLeft TV, Grit TV and TPM Veracifier.

Democracy Now is the flagship TV news from the left. Amy Goodman and Juan Gonzalez host the program from New York City. Goodman is an iconic figure in progressive media, but Gonzalez, although less known, is a Pulitzer Prize winner (for his WTC Ground Zero air health hazards work for the New York Daily News) and one of the most knowledgeable reporters on national and worldwide labor issues and unions. Democracy Now's Latin American and Middle East coverage is the best in the United States.

Go Left TV has several channels. It is connected to Air America. Go check it out. It includes programs by Thom Hartmann, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr, Mike Papantonio, and several other journalists and commentators.

Grit TV is a production by British-born American journalist, Laura Flanders. She has written several books, two of them about women and the media.

TPM Veracifier is a product of the expansion of Josh Marshall's Talking Points Memo blog from Josh's little, but highly influential blog around the start of the present phase of the Iraq War, to an alternative media and reporting Goliath. As some PA readers will know, Marshall and TPM Veracifier have covered Alaska politics more than any news outlet outside of the state over the past three years.
