Palin Fires Releases Scheunemann, Hires Breitbart BFF Peter Schweizer to Replace Him

It was announced this morning that Sarah Palin has let Randy Scheunemann go. He had been working with or for Palin periodically, since the McCain campaign. In his place, SarahPAC has hired Hoover Institute fellow, Andrew Breitbart associate and Reagan worshipper, Peter Schweizer, to run her foreign policy shop:
Sarah Palin has a new foreign policy adviser. Out is Randy Scheunemann, one of the few remaining links to her time on the McCain/Palin ticket, and in is Peter Schweizer, a fellow at the Hoover Institution.

Scheunemann was a key foreign policy adviser to the campaign of Senator John McCain, and a played a huge role advising Palin during her debate prep. He stuck with her after the election. But now, Tim Crawford, the Treasurer for SarahPac, tells ABC News, “Randy couldn't give us the time that the Governor required.”

Scheunemann is the President of the “Committee for the Liberation of Iraq,” and is seen as something of a NeoConservative, supportive of a far-reaching American foreign policy. He worked for Palin along with Michael Goldfarb, a former writer at the Weekly Standard.

Incoming adviser Peter Schweizer is seen to view the United States with a more limited role in world affairs.

The shift in adviser might have been reflected in a foreign policy speech Palin delivered last night in Colorado. She called on American foreign policy to have “clearly defined objectives.” In recent weeks she has been critical of U.S. policy in Libya for its “lack of clarity.”
Here's the speech referred to in the article. It drew a crowd of about 350 people, and was laden with conspiracy theory fluff:

Schweizer recently joined prominent Islamophobe Frank Gaffney, to become a part of Andrew Breitbart's Big PEACE web page. Here's Gaffney and Schweizer talking about the "roll-out" of BigPEACE.com:

It is probably too early to tell if the hire of Schweizer will change Palin's positions on foreign policy. Other than her often-repeated simplistic mantras, she really doesn't have an articulated foreign policy platform per se. Beyond American and Israeli exceptionalism and a fascist-oriented view on what our military can be allowed to do, she has ben fairly inconsistent, not to mention shallow.

Shallow is a stretch ... she has no ability to understand nor voice a foreign policy. Palin is a person who would rather peruse People Magazine than a newspaper. She is without any experience and is a shill for anyone with the $$. I am so embarrassed to be Alaskan when I travel. That anyone buys her BS is absolutely appalling. But, on the other hand! Bring her on! Sheis the best thing for Dems!

This is more of her vindictiveness. Kristol dumped her, so now she is dumping Kristol buddies. Has nothing to do with foreign policy views. More evidence that she is moving out to the fringe...even gave an award on Saturday night to the Breitbart troll who filmed the Planned Parenthood set up....

Listen to her lines. "Freedom is not free, it's a God-given right, and worth fighting for."

Do the people listening to her really not distinguish between her glittering generalities and what Obama said on the campaign trail?

This is not policy. This is BS!

Of course, Palin is infamous for using people and then tossing them under the bus. However, in this case, the most likely story is that Scheunemann is jumping a sinking ship. She's dropping in the polls. Bachmann, Cantor, Ryan and Paul actually have jobs and have stolen Palin's thunder. Trump has hijacked the wackadoodle voting block and driven it into the ditch. Palin may have fired the guy, but I'm betting he's trying to find a role in the upcoming election that he can put on his resume.

Anyone who works with her should get a contract that states that she learns to repeat what they are telling her. If she hires someone for them to help her and she doesn't learn what they are talking about and can only fall back on gross generalities, either they look ridiculous or she does, and it is a waste of both their time and hers. How can she get so many experts and still get up and seem as if she is an ill-prepared extemporaneous speaker? Didn't McCain call her a "quick study"?

So few actual intelligent comments here. Interestingly critical of Palin, but just fluffy anti-Palin hate thought without real depth and substance. Yet just look to Obama, he is Mr. Inconsistency when it comes to foreign policy, everything from pulling troops out of our wars, to water boarding. Obama makes Palin look like a pro.

By the way, the venue that Palin spoke at holds 1300, and was sold out, with an additional 200 overflow seats arranged outside via big screen all of whom sat in the cold to watch Palin. But doesn't shock me to see people lie about anything to do with Palin, even simple attendance numbers. Grow up.

@4:27 & 4:33 - no one bothers to get "information" about her because her time in the sun, her Andy Warhol fifteen, is finished. She's being put out to pasture by the media--at last. Too bad, so sad, bye dad.

She can hire whomever she wants, but the truth is "you can make a silk purse our of a sow's ear"!

Sarah's old neocons groupies don't have any more time to waste on her.

Lucky thing the C4P racists have nothing better to do than try to convince each other that their Quitter Queen might, someday, run. And they show their undying love with a constant stream of donations to SarahPac.

A ship of fools.

Geez, inconsistent and shallow is a compliment, I wouldn't even give her that.

Ha ha ha, liberals are so funny, really don't worry about Palin then if she is done. Go about your business of trying to re-elect Obama- good luck there by the way, Obama has to be the absolute worst President in history and I thought George W Bush was dumb. 5:24 throwing out the racism is all too typical of your types, but the truth is that your types are the true racists. rollin...

6:12: We are simply stating facts.I am not "afraid" of the power of Palin, rather, I am disturbed by the lies she has been documented to spew since her run for Wassllia mayor. The pattern had been there from the beginning.. I am more concerned with the manipulation of the media and the rise of this obviously incompetent person who has the meglomanic notion she SHOULD be president of the united states. She continues to get press because of he tacky-Hollywoodish presentation. There is nothing whatsoever Presidential about this person. My anger is directed at the media and their addiction to sound bites.

@6:12 - If you think "liberals" are the ones who don't like Palin, you are sadly mistaken. "Liberals" hope the GOP will run her because she's such a pathetic joke. She can't even pick out her own correct shoe size. It's conservatives who can't stand her; she has ruined the conservative brand, with her corporate ties to the Koch Brothers' Tea Party and her AIP allegiance.

I don't worry about her, though. Palin is a "celebutician," not a politician. Oh, and President Obama just secured a second term, in case you missed the latest international news...

@6:33 I agree with you.. Period.

Liberals hope this nitwit decides to run; Republicans know that she has tarnished their brand with her total lack of knowledge and her inane snarky one liners. I'd say Quitter Queen's 5 minutes of fame have come to a 'screeching' halt...long ago.

Today was illustrative of the ignorance and lies of this woman - not mentioning our great commander in chief and crediting him for finishing the job which Bush & his cabal botched. Just shows what an ignorant bufoon this woman is.

Quitter and pathological liar aptly describes Sarah Palin.

Firedog Lake says Sarah Palin “fired” Randy Scheunemann as her “foreign policy adviser.”

With all respect to Jane Hamsher (pictured at right), the creator and curator of Firedog Lake, what’s the source for “fired”?

All I’ve seen is a Politico story in which Ben Smith quotes SarahPac treasurer Tim Crawford as saying,
“Randy flat out said, ‘We can’t give you the time.’”

Doesn’t that sound more like Scheunemann and his colleague Michael Goldfarb of Washington lobbying firm Orion Strategies
just flat out quit because they no longer fancied Sarah’s 2012 prospects?

Who says they were fired? Did anyone call Orion to ask? Did a Palin spokesman even claim that Sarah fired them?

Apparently not. But a Firedog Lake blogger using the pseudonym “Edward Teller” stated it as fact.

This is what bothers me about the whole blogging thing–not to mention twittering, which is even worse: there is no accountability. Anyone can say pretty much anything they want, with no downside.

She has not advanced beyond her run for Mayor of Wasilla. She is still snarky/one-liner/using sex as her selling card. The only reason she has advanced in this discourse is because of her looks. Period. If she had been saying the same things with the looks of Janet Reno (and not half the brains) she would have gone nowhere. Not in Wassilla, not in Main Street. She is all appealing to the amygdala. Period. Nothing else to there to see. I hear nothing about her ideas, what she proposes. Only about her "trashy" looks. Why? Because that is all she has to offer. No ideas, only the package.
I do not wish her ill. I do not appreciate the hatred she (un)consciously arouses in this nation. That is the terrifying part of this person. Not her plastic surgery, her trashy presentation, her obscene use of her children, her multiple lies, her use and abuse of her children in her quest for power? for money? I do not know the end game. Only she does. We can only project meaning upon her erratic behavior. A projective deice, she is. A virtual Rorschach.

That was a foreign policy speech? I thought I heard a truck rumble by, but it must have been the rest of the world sitting up and taking notice. Oy.
