®OFLMAO on this one:
Sarah Palin, possibly the Queen of all media lately, has become an industry all to herself. Therefore Palin decided to protect herself as a commercial brand and filed for a trademark on for the name “Sarah Palin” on November 5th of 2010. The description of the goods and services that this trademark will protect is “Information about political elections; Providing a website featuring information about political issues.” There is however some bad news for the former Alaska governor. The US Patent and Trademark office examiner assigned to the application has sent an Office Action letter to Palin’s legal team stating the following issue with her trademark: “specimens are not acceptable because they do not show use of the applied-for mark in connection with any of the services specified in the application.”
In layman’s terms, the examiner seems to feel that the documents submitted to prove that Palin’s trademark needs are insufficient. Supporting documents, known as “proof of use” must show the applicant offering a commercial service. What her representatives submitted were screenshots of her Facebook page, an article from the Washington Speakers Bureau and a Fox News article advertising her as a contributor to the network.
Generally a trademark will only be registered if it protects a commercial use in commerce. The specimens submitted to the USPTO do not show that Palin charges for her services in interstate commerce, they don’t appear to indicate much more than the fact that Palin is famous. Palin has 6 months to respond to the trademark office to argue that the trademark is for a legitimate use in commerce.
Perhaps Palin has reason to apply for this trademark. There has already been a trademark filing for wine called “Sarah Palin’s going rouge rouge.” It certainly doesn’t appear to have been filed by Palin. Perhaps it sparked Palin to claim exclusive rights to her name as a brand. Speculation aside, there is sure to be more news on this trademark filing in the coming months, and we will be keeping a close eye on it.

What an E'ffin bag of garbage she is.
Ha! That loser of an attorney, Thomas Van Flein, filed those documents for Palin. Apparently he is too "impotent" to tell Sarah this was an ignorant idea.
Sarah surrounds herself with incompetents in her "inner circle".
Tim Crawford can't seem to file proper FEC reports (probably because he is not creative enough to find excuses for her bullshit expenses).
And then there is Bekkky Mansour...she refreshes Sarah's same old shit speech for the big game hunter's convention on 1/29/11 using the endearing "don't retreat, reload" line, but unknown to Bekkky, Sarah changes her speech to "don't retreat, stand tall". Sarah plagiarized "stand tall" from this 1/25/11 title:
"Science Students Stand Tall at State of the Union"

Yeah, I know, WTF?
Actually, Palin isn't nearly the queen of all media.
Several media sources have begun to ignore Palin and many are pledging to end giving her any coverage.
Palin is only able to attempt to manipulate things because some in the media continue to treat her as if she had as much relevance as any other more sane perspective.
Palin is enabled by those who constantly pay attention to her and constantly focus attention on her.
You can't complain about Palin while you're setting up the stage for her and handing her the microphone.
She doesn't rate being put on stage. Why put her on stage if you also don't think she has any business being there? That's just stupid.
No doubt an attempt to checkmate negative depictions of her in the media - at least they haven't sued any cartoonists (yet).
They'll also probably attempt next to register the entire state of Alaska as a trademark.
So we're still good for developing the most thorough "Sarah Palin Colon Cleanse" products?
Palin Cleanse: Wash, rinse, repeat.
It's good to see that her 15 minutes of fame have evaporated and she is not being covered by most of the media now.
She's basically become a "punch line" or "the american 'joke'" in terms of her limited intelligence (nearing buffoonery) and her total lack of intellectual curiosity about so much she's clueless about.
The fact that she believes she needs to protect her trademark only furnishes further evidence of the totally deluded state of Sarah's psyche.
As a women, she's a total disgrace & embarrassment to all women - as she does nothing well - racing around the country like a neurotic mess does not translate into being a 'good mother'. Professionally she's a disaster with quitting everything except being Mayor Nitwit of Wassyland. I'm sure the Toddster was doing that job for her too.
Like her buddy Glenn Beck, Sarah's on the brink of a very public meltdown - Todd's escapades and the fact that only 13% of the population thinks anything of her will soon render her totally irrelevant to the american political landscape.
Is this a tacky ad for Hanes Pantyhose perchance??
Sorry but I just can't get beyond her tacky wearing of very tight and shiny pantyhose with shorts in this horrid photo!! Every woman knows that it's the last resort for someone with mucho thigh cellulite.
This has to be one of the tackiest pictures of this sham of a woman.
Sad, but consistent with her need to defraud and create a fictional persona instead of the 'real deal'.
A friend of mine says that her eventual destination is Van Nuys and pr0n.
May be. But I sure as hell won't ever see any of it. I've seen enough freak shows in my time.
"Commercial use in commerce" If only we could sell ignorance. The USA would be five times richer than any country in the world.
Actually, Kodiak Island Brewery has been making "Sarah Pale Ale" for quite some time now.
anon @ 4:32 - good catch. Good Ale. I don't think one can copyright a first name, but Palin might try, eh?
