Back on Thursday, Progressive Alaska announced, thanks to a tip from a reader named AKPetMom, that Sarah Palin is to be today's featured guest for FOX News TV's rollout of their brand new Glenn Beck show. The PA post featured brief editorial comments, and a video of Palin on an earlier appearance on Beck's CNN program.
Late this morning, almost five days later, the Anchorage Daily News posted a stenographic blurb about this show. The show starts in about five minutes. I'm not going to watch it. We don't get FOX.

More and more, during 2009, we are going to witness progressive Alaska blogs like PA, the Mudflats, Alaska Real, the Immoral Minority, Celtic Diva's Blue Oasis, Just a Girl From Homer, What do I Know?, Kodiak Konfidential, the Alaska Dispatach, and others, cover stories the ADN misses. And other blogs too. Like Andrew Halcro's blog, especially.
As a case in point, this morning's ADN editorial about the "clean" coal plant in Healy, doesn't give out as much information, nor use its position for editorializing, to ask anywhere near as many questions as did Halcro in his posts on the issue last week.
This isn't just sad. It is lamentable.
More and more you will notice that we beat outlets like the ADN to stories by hours, if not days or - as in this case - almost a week.

Just listened to Beck asking Palin about "global attempts to discredit capitalism", and Palin answered with a typical Palinism: She immediately turned the question into an opening to slam Obama's proposal for tax credits to 95% of working Americans, and -- just like she did in the campaign, invoked one of her ubiquitous children in her answer -- suggested that "the other 5%, why should they be PUNISHED?"
Oh, taxes are a punishment, now? Wow, I feel really abused since I've been paying taxes now for 40+ years...

Glenn Beck mused at the "ivory-tower-ness" of most politicians who don't pump their own gas and never stop at the local fast-food joint to order something at the drive-up window...obviously he was leading up to asking a question, which was to ask Palin when the last time was that SHE stopped by a Wendy's and ordered something? She replied, 2 nights ago, and it was a Dairy Queen, not a Wendy's.
The point being, I suppose, she's one of the people, she's just like you folks, gosh darn it.
I heard only 2 sent-in questions from what Beck said were thousands sent in: the last one was "how is Trig doing?" from another mother of a DS child.
This was the first time in all the televised appearances by Sarah Palin in which I was ABSOLUTELY SURE she was telling the truth (including the previous post I just made; I don't believe for one minute that Willow remarked about the 5% being punished) -- she was saying how much Trig has been a joy to the family, how big he's gotten at 8 months now, and he's wearing glasses and how adorable he looks in them, yada, yada.
She said she's now going to do another, local interview, and then she's going back to her office and work!
don't forget zaki, he's the best out of all of ya, lol.

I think you're right about Willow not really bringing that up about the 5% being punished.
SP said Willow noticed that her new little baby brother, Trig, had DS when she first laid eyes on him....
