As Winter Dies, Spring Comes to Life

Saturday mid-afternoon, it got up to 55 degrees F at our place. Late in the morning, I went out onto the lake and took some ice pictures. The ice continues to break down into new crystals every day, from the impact of several sunny days.

The sun and heat are helping to grow the hundreds of plants I've started for the greenhouse, or as transplants for the outdoor summer garden. Here is arugula, rapidly growing. We will be eating this by the end of April.

Zucchini starters, popping up out of the potting soil.
