FOX to Send Palin to Haiti to Investigate Haitians Pact with the Devil?

Just kidding. But maybe they should. Bring Brit Hume with you, Sarah.

I heard about this so-called "pact" years ago, from a black friend from Barbados. He told me that it was largely propagated by clerics who dislike the influence of voodoo, and by American businesses there who probably feel guilty about enabling the impoverishment of Haitians through their rapacious business models, and have to place the blame somewhere other than in their own activities.

Here's a bit from a two-part article on the origin of this myth, by former Haitian cleric, Jean R. Gelin, PhD:

The satanic pact allegedly took place at Bois-Caïman near Cap-Haïtien on August 14, 1791 during a meeting organized by several slave leaders, under [Dutty] Boukman’s leadership, before launching what would become Haiti’s Independence War. This brutal period lasted 13 years until the last survivors of the French expeditionary forces, dispatched to Saint-Domingue with the sole purpose to re-establish slavery, were allowed by Dessalines to leave the island and return to Napoleon. Those who made it safely to France wrote and reported about the utmost bravery and supreme courage of Haiti’s indigenous army.

The proponents of the supposed pact continuously refer to the Bois-Caïman gathering as the place where the satanic contract supposedly took place, even in the absence of solid historical evidence save their own prolific imagination. After extensive research on Haiti and several visits to the country, American writer Robert Heinl and his wife Nancy Heinl published in 1978 a volume on the Haitian revolution that deals with several aspects of Haiti’s painful history including the Bois-Caïman meeting. According to these authors, Bookman sought the help of the God of heaven in his prayer, and made no mention whatsoever of a spiritual agreement with Satan. Even though the text shows Bookman was talking to the creator and not the devil, some would still contend that he could not have been really talking to God because – the way they see it - Bookman did not know God as they think they know Him.

Robertson always sees "the hand of God" or "God's will" in storms, floods, tornadoes, hurricanes and earthquakes. I have no idea whether or not Robertson understands plate tectonics. The mechanisms of it were only finally discovered in the 2nd half of the 20th century, and we're learning more about it every month.

Robertson, however, knows all he need to know already. And he'll continue to tell us what that is on his TV channel, as long as his diamond mines in Africa hold out, and little, old, blue-haired ladies keep sending him money.

Your "wit" is second only to your inability to grasp the reality of what is happening in America today.

Freud would have a field-day with your seeming need to drag Sarah Palin into every blog-post.

I want to know what happened to all the true believers who swore to leave the USA if Obama were elected President. You're free to leave now! Flights available every hour!

Palin makes it into about 30 to 35% of PA articles. This blog was started in late 2007. It is about Alaska and Alaska politics. Palin was governor then. Up until August 29th 2008, she was the subject of very few articles here, mostly about her anti-science and anti-transparency policies.

Since she was so foolishly thrust into the national scene in the McCain campaign, I joined other Alaska bloggers in getting the word out that this person - Palin- is unqualified to serve in an important capacity at a national level.

When she resigned, uh, to use her older son's term, "took a dishonorable discharge" to get out of the line of fire and go for big, big bucks, I had hoped to not write about her much anymore. You can look up my post that pretty much states that.

But her continued insinuation into the national dialogue is more important than I had thought it might be.

I have no idea how you see this to be "Freudian." I've known her for 19 years, and although I don't view her as unattractive in a physical sense, I've never thought of her as attractive, either. She is certainly unattractive in an intellectual sense.

And thus, Phil, one could say that Freud might be even more interested in what drives the various Anonymouses that stop by every Alaskan blog mentioning Sarah Palin in some context or other, to criticize those same Alaskan bloggers.

Freud, and every other psychoanalyst in the world.

In fact, the Palinbot phenomenon certainly could be a significant topic for a dissertation and/or thesis.

I know what interests US. A desire for self-preservation, and the preservation of life on Earth pretty much as it is now, or better.

Track referred to her quitting as "a dishonorable discharge"? Really? Well, that says it all!

Give me a break, like other knee-jerk liberals your first instinct was to ensure that your Messiah, Barak H. Obama was made President. Any populist threat to Obama's rise to power had to be crushed...whether that was Hilary in the Primaries or Palin in the general election..
In the name of putting to rest the liberal guilt over race, you and your ilk were happy to use every vile accusation against both the Clintons and, in her turn, Sarah Palin and her family.
The hysteria with which the "Left" attacked Palin though revealed to the rest of us the sickness that lies at the embittered heart of the "progressive" agenda. Like the Victorian bigots from a by-gone age you were disgusted that an independent woman dare speak truth to power. And, of course, in the liberal "victim status"stakes, race always tops gender - so merely by opposing Obama and telling the truth about his past (something you've never had the guts to do) Palin automatically became a "racist".
But the vile campaign against her didn't end with the election, Palin had to made an example of...the liberal agenda could not tolerate Palin setting an example to other conservative women. Palin had to be completely destroyed in order to warn those who might follow in her footsteps. But the plan didn't quite work out..sure you drove her from office with a string of money-consuming lawsuits but you didn't break her and now, as the inexperienced Daley-hack from Chicago drags America to the brink, she has positioned herself to respond to her attackers and the media arm of the Democartic machine.

No, what interests you and the other misogynists here is the need to destroy a female politician because she doesn't fit your bigoted view of what a female politician should be. Yours is a 21st Century witch hunt, the modern Left are the new McCarthys
and your agenda is as transparent as your pathetic attempts to justify your hatred.
