At least one local blog is incorrectly calling this courageous speech a filibuster, but it is not. It is an attempt to make a point. If he keeps going, this will become a big news item by this evening. But it is not a filibuster, as there are no votes scheduled for today.
Watching him reminds me of Sen. Gravel reading the Pentagon Papers into the Senate record back in the year before I moved to Alaska.
Sen. Sanders yielded the floor at 2:59 p.m. Alaska time. He spoke for eight hours and 35 minutes.

Senator Sanders is a true hero!
I agree, A Hero!
Thank You, Senator Sanders.
He got a little help from Sen. Landrieu early in the day. I don't care if it's called filibustering or marathon speechifying, I am thankful for his courage to speak the truth.
