@ Bartlett Club @ Noon Today

I'll be speaking at the Anchorage Bartlett Democratic Club today at noon, on the history of protest music in recent Western and global cultures, and about my most recent work, Hindu Kush, for orchestra, which premieres tomorrow at the Performing Arts Center in Anchorage.

Dawnell Smith has written a very (!!!) positive article about Hindu Kush, and about the Anchorage Civic Orchestra, for today's edition of the Anchorage Press.

Alaska's Republican U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski today blocked legislation that would have lifted the $75 million liability cap protecting big oil companies like BP from paying for economic damage caused by their oil spills.
