We Went to the Opera Tonight.......and......

....it occurred to me that my favorite non-standard version of the opera we enjoyed, The Barber of Seville, can be seen in new light.

The Looney Tunes version of Rossini's comic opera masterpiece has been a favorite of mine since I was a kid. With the set of dueling challenges from the Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund and the Alaska Governor's office, we do have the makings of opera buffa.

Meanwhile, here's the Looney Tunes Charles M. Jones masterpiece, The Rabbit of Seville. Imagine, if you will can, Ashley Judd as Bugs Bunny and Sarah Palin as Elmer Fudd:
