Katie's 90th

Over 250 Alaskans honored one of Alaska's most vital political and equal rights icons Sunday at the train depot in Palmer Alaska. We honored former State Representative and Chief Clerk of the Alaska Constitutional Convention, Katie Hurley. She turned 90 this week. I saw and spoke with friends there I hadn't seen in five, ten - even 20 - years. So many smiles and hugs. Here are some images:

It's like George Washington still being alive. She was there at the birth of the state. I hope she has many mire birthdays!

Phil, On Monday, Bob and I made a special trip over to Katie's to show her and David your wonderful blog of her birthday. I wrote a comment, but it doesn't appear -- you can tell I'm not too computer savvy. Your pictures are simply marvelous, and of course, Katie wants a copy of each of them. Such good work! Love and shalom, Carolyn
