Saradise Lost - Chapter Twenty-Four - Governor Palin's RNC Speech

I suppose this was the first and last time I'll get a chance to watch a person whose political career I've observed from the very beginnings to such a stratospheric level, give such a highly heralded debut on the national stage. Judy thought the speech was good. I was horrified.

Not by Palin's delivery, but by the audience's responses.

Meanwhile, the phones keep ringing. I can't begin to list the topics that come up, but - believe me - Sarah Palin will have to be insulated in some kind of astronaut suit designed to get you back to earth from an asteroid hit on your Mars craft 20,000,000 miles from earth without any other means of support, to survive until the November election.

These investigative reporters are always polite toward me, toward Alaskans, neutral toward Palin and the now augering landscapes of our fall election. But it is becoming increasingly obvious to me that our Alaska press editors and publishers have utterly failed to explain how things really work here to our citizenry.

Not our reporters. To reiterate - our editors and publishers.

More in the morning.

Can you please elaborate on this comment, I'm not sure what you mean. Thank you

When she took sheers to the budget, the oil prices hadn't shot up, Phil. Everything was getting cut.

My husband talked to her at the governor's picnic and she was on the ball with windpower and solar energy.

Good bye Progressive Alaska.

It was a good ride to read your blog. I really enjoyed the writing. I've a blind elder that I really enjoyed reading your blog to. Your writing was clear, right on and far too often, very very funny.

But to log on this morning and agree with much of your latest post about Palins speech, then to see you have the made up photo of Bristol and McCain... well good bye.

Dude, be rude, but leave the kids out of it. Yeah, I know, someone else did the make up photo of Bristol and McCain, but why repost it? Frankly it is just wrong.

My family (including the blind one) and I say good bye.

anon @ #3 - sorry,

but the McCain campaign brought the "family" back into the discussion yesterday morning, with the campaign's staged photo opportunity of John McCain hugging the man being touted as being responsible for the newest Palin family pregnancy.

The McCain campaign's surrogates link to caricatures of the Obama family. Sorry you have missed this.

tea n. crumpet -

"...and she was on the ball with windpower and solar energy..."

funding for which she has cut. The guy she's put in charge of her energy program is pushing "clean coal" far more than their pitiful "experiments" with "alternative" energy.

I really didn't recognize this Sarah. I had to step away from the TV after a few minutes. Those didn't sound like her words, nor her delivery. Karl Rove 101.

All we learned last night is that she can read a teleprompter. One would expect that she learned such while she was a sportscaster. It was obvious she didn't write it.

That was just boilerplate red meat for the base. For the rest of the country, most were appalled and frankly disgusted. Way too many easily debunked lies, but that is how the Republicans now run their party. Lies about Iraq... lies about the economy... little Sarah will fit right in.

Bullshit Phil, total bullshit.

You have advanced the victimization of an Alaskan youth via reposting the McCain-Bristol made up photo.

Justify it all you want by saying the McCain camp did it to Obama..
Justify it all you want by saying Palin introduced Track and/or Trig on the RNC stage.

Go ahead and justify your right to victimize an Alaskan youth.

I could give a rats ass that she is the Gov's daughter - or her mom views on procreation...

You are actively victimizing this young women.

You are a sick person to justify your continued victimization.

My god I've never seen something so gross and disgusting via you thinking it is okay, cause someone else is doing it.

Nor did I ever peg you as such a proud abuser of young women.

So now that you think it is okay to be abusive to our young Alaskan women, do you plan on doing it the rest of your life? And will you be residing in Alaska while you desire to abuse young Alaska women?
I'd like to warn my daughers that you think it is okay to abuse them.

You sick and twisted man.

(pssst I'm a Obama supporter. So you don't have to victimize me for supporting Palin. Just sayin.)

Okay now I get it.

This is Carl, anon. #3 (and 8's) son. This is the blog that has my mom really pissed off and why she is ripping off a piece of plywood from the woodshed and spray painting your name on it.

Actually it says: Phil Munger justifies victimizing young Alaskan women.

Knowing my mom, I think your in some big trouble. My dad went hunting and my mom is going to put that sign at the end of the driveway. Your only hope is that dad comes home early from hunting.

Hey Phil,
See you around town. I'm am going to enjoy letting the general public know you justify victimizing an Alaskan youth.

As a staunch Benson supporter, FOMS supporter and local musican in the Valley, I believe all Alaskan Progressives need to know you justify victimization of Alaskan youth.

You have made me embarassed to be associated with Alaska's Progressives.

I also just sat down with my son and explained that he should never behave like you with the reposting of the McCain-Bristol photo.

My sons words: "gosh, seems like something Don Young or Ben Stevens would do..."

Only a sick and twisted man would continue to victimize this young Alaskan.

Again see you around town. :)
