Saradise Lost - Chapter Fourteen - The Palin NRC Schedule Changes

The GOP handlers are changing Gov. Palin's convention schedule. Here's the Anchorage Daily News' Sean Cockerham, from the convention:

Sarah Palin is laying low....

Palin was supposed to accept an award tonight here in St. Paul from Phyllis Schlafly and the Republican National Coalition for Life. But a Republican Congresswoman from Tennessee, Marsha Blackburn, is going to be accepting it on her behalf.

Palin is scheduled to accept the nomination for vice president in a speech tomorrow night. But McCain campaign manager Rick Davis said “we’re reserving the right to move things around.”

Sean seems to think this is normal. I'm not sure.

That's not normal. Congrats on this blog. I can't see why anyone would check anywhere else for Alaska politics/Palin inside dope. Keep it up for at least as long as she is possibly the veep.

The Palin saga is the unintended consequence of a poor snap decision by John McCain. Now McCain is resportedly angry at the media for pursuing the Palin story. The problem is not the media. The problem is McCain's poor temperament and judgment. McCain is a 72 year-old of diminished capacity, backed up by an unqualified candidate. McCain-Palin is not the team we want running our country.

Phyllis Schla... we are talking about THIS Phyllis Schlafly, right? The one who believes that "By getting married, the woman has consented to sex, and I don't think you can call it rape"?

I thought Palin was supposed to be a feminist?

this saga is sad for Alaska, which will become the laffingstock of America now, and also sad for the GOP, which has already become the laffingstock of the USA. It does show the diminished IQ of poor John McCain, and why he should not be elected the president of this great God-fearing country. And Palin, it's plain as day, Palin is going to be shown the door soon. Very soon. This week, in fact. I say this as a former Alaska watching this farce unfold from afar. Long live the Northern Lights! Long live salmon BBQs!

I think that they are considering holding her off until Thursday, because once she accept the nomination, McCain cannot unilaterally drop her...it becomes more complicated. And I think they are scared enough to scrape up one more day to try and weight whether or not they can go forward with her, and I think THAT, depends on what they are getting from their belated vetting team in Alaska.

But, that's just speculaton on my part.

I've heard others make the claim that Palin will be tossed soon but I sort of doubt that.

I think any shuffling on the schedule is more due to Palin being prepped for PrimeTime.

My guess is she is holed up getting all sorts of coaching in her presentation and practicing her speech and probably receiving an American Idol style makeover.

Diction and speaking coaches?

She has the tendency to sound a little like the characters in Fargo.

Perhaps being versed in the neocon vision on Global Affairs with folks like Randy Shunemen.

That all depends though on whether we are getting the straight dope that McCain was really forewarned.

Perhaps even if he wasn't it will all work out with a vey Rovian flair to wring the milk of advantage from it.

Fred Thompson is having fucking wet dreams over her {at last something woke him up} and the Reps in Minnesota are going wild.

anon2 #6 - maybe she's practicing holding a shotgun to a reluctant kid's neck, eh?
