Saradise Lost - Chapter Twelve -- John McC. Hazelwood

As the Republican National Convention delegates awaken from the drunken stupors caused by their all-day partying yesterday (the fake Jerry Lewisesque telethon Gustav scenario having evaporated this morning like so many pink elephants), they might want to wash down their bloody marys by watching Democracy Now! or reading the Los Angeles Times.

The reality of the multi-level fakery of the Potemkin Village GOP Convention's facade, is etched into deep relief by the growing prominence in the convention's narrative of last Friday's choice by GOP Presidential nominee apparent Joseph Hazelwood, John McCain of Thomas Eagleton Sarah Palin as his first running mate, on the MV Potemkin Valdez.

The hastily reorganizing, regrouping Anchorage Daily News, attempting to deal with finally having to send a crew of reporters and photographers to Minneapolis and Wasilla, to action scenes they hadn't contemplated covering at the end of last week, is hilarious fascinating. These are some fine reporters, being sent scurrying to put more lipstick and makeup on two pigs - the national GOP, and the selection of the totally unqualified Sarah Palin. The story narratives are being triaged by two of the worst editors in Alaska history - Pat Dougherty and Matt Zencey. (Tom Brennan and Paul Jenkins don't count, because they're merely pretend, Potemkin editors).

This morning, the
ADN posted the picture of a young male Wasilla High School student. They've now removed it. As I write, they're hastily revising and redacting. This is farce, Matt and Pat. Driven by a stupid story from a stinky NYC tabloid.

Let's get back to the bridge of the MV Potemkin Valdez:
