Mat-Su Valley News - "Mostly Preaching to a Small and Insane Choir"

That's how a friend and colleague characterized the first post in a long, long time at the Mat-Su Valley News blog. The editor there, Penny Nixon has pretty much been in hiding since his full employment for attorneys act, called Proposition 1 was soundly defeated last year.

Last Friday, in the first post there since October 16, 2007, Nixon's co-editor, Dennis Oakland put on his tinfoil hat, or maybe his tinfoil coveralls, for all I know. He was responding to a comment I'd posted to last week's article in the Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman about Linda Menard's courtesy call to Sen. Lyda Green about the former's decision to run against the latter in the GOP primary for Senate seat G.

I had said, "We don't need a little change in November - we need a lot. Go, Michelle!"

I was referring to longtime Valley progressive and current Mat-Su Assembly member, Michelle Church, who some have hoped might run as a Democrat for Senate Seat G. Here's what wingnut Oakland came up with from that comment:

What does that comment mean? In my opinion, it implies that Mr. Munger has knowledge that Mat-Su Assemblywoman Michelle Church is planning to run against the August Republican primary winner.

Fact: Gov. Palin dislikes real Republican Lyda Green.
Fact: Gov. Palin likes fake Republican Linda Menard
Fact: Gov. Palin will support fake Republican Menard in the Republican primary.

Scenario 1: Fake Republican Menard defeats Green, runs against Church. Citing a family crisis, fake Republican Menard drops out at last minute, handing seat to Church by default.

Scenario 2: Green beats fake Republican Menard. Palinbots, Menard's, Greenies, Lib's and drug user's (who want to run for MEA), all lend support to Church in attempt to beat Green. Green and Church battle it out in November and the Anti-Lyda crowd will play out the dirtiest campaign you will ever witness in your lifetime.

This is not paranoid, this is just knowing what Liberals will do to win. Deceive the voters to win at any cost. Just like they did against Proposition 1 and MEA.

Now you know why Progressive Alaska lists Mat-Su Valley News as a Humor Site for Alaska Progressives. Keep it up, you guys!

Don't you love how clueless these wingnuts can be? Calling Green a real Republican days before Green's probable indictment in the Veco corruption series shows a real sense of perspective and inside knowledge. I suppose that makes sense, seeing as Oakland and Nixon have all but disappeared from view since Proposition 1 crashed and burned.

You've got to love Oakland's statement about, "drug user's [sic] (who want to run for MEA)." We'll know this afternoon at shortly after 4:00 p.m. how the hair samples for Janet Kincaid and Peter Burchell came back, when the MEA Board meets at the Palmer MEA meeting room. I'm just off the phone with the folks there, and they won't tell me how it went.

I asked Tuckerman Babcock whether or not he was the person who, a week ago Sunday, called Linda Menard, in a heavy-handed attempt to convince Menard not to run against Green. Tuckerman's reply was, "I'm not talking with you about anything other than MEA business, Phil."

Earlier this afternoon, I asked Michelle Church whether or not she will run for Senate Seat G. She will not.

Penny Nixon is a true American! Fantastic guy.

vsv,

He is American. I hope he gets more writers like the one who did the post quoted above, too. I was thinking of starting to run cartoons, like KoKon, but if Penny starts writing again, I won't have to.

Tuck-tuck-bo-buck-banana-fana-fo-whoops!

I am one of Michelle's constituents but she never replied to a concern that I had. I don't like her and wouldn't vote for her.

I hope Michelle runs. She would stand a better chance than anyone else the Dems have put forward in recent years, not that I would vote for her.
