That large digital clock in the background from the welcoming scene reads "7 18 22:51 21"
Based on the large man stating that he had his "eskimo suit" on we are led to believe that this interview was in winter (so to also, too, the shots from the top of Alyeska were taken in deep winter)
Is that a real time clock in the Gov's Anch, office? Looks to me like they were up here last summer even before the VP announcement but were trying to make it look as if it was winter.
No significance in this, just why would they try to make it seem as if it was winter when it, if the date/clock thing was correct, actually have been July at nearly 11pm at night.
There's no way that Sarah Palin would have been in her office in July at 11pm at night unless it was for some sort of national TV exposure, right? I seriously doubt she was actually working late....
Just another quick comment before heading off to work. I've watched a few episodes of this Orange County Chopper show (still don't understand why it's on The Learning Channel, but hey, there's very little on the Learning Channel that actually pertains to learning, so there.)
At any rate, the patriarch of the motorcycle family is very ill tempered and berates his children into submission. I guess that the Palin family and the Chopper family probably do have much more in common than I previously thought!
Blerphlblaarg hrrrl ack (cough). Wow, I didn't know I could throw up so much so fast. You shoud bottle that video and use it to induce vomitting in case of poison ingestion.
And what the fuck is with this "patriot" shit? We kicked the British ass over two hundred years ago. No way this guy is that old. She wraps her ignorant peckerwood ass in our flag every fucking time she gets the chance. What an embarassment.
Jesus, how much more of this shit do we have to endure? Impeach "Palin The Poser" already. Christ, I never thought these words would pass my lips, but BRING BACK FRANK THE BANK, time to cry "uncle".
I think that's her countdown clock to the end of her term, indicating 718 days left (I think there's one in the Juneau office too, not that she'd ever see it). Based on that, I'd say this was shot some time in Dec. 2008, because this term ending in early Dec. 2010. In fact, the 21 at the end may mean it was shot on Dec. 21st.
AK Petmom--I noticed at the very end of the trailer that you can see the "Welcome Back Governor" sign hanging on the wall. The sign was posted in her office after the election in November, when SP came back to work. So this could have been around that time.
Also, I recall that in the Esquire Magazine article on Todd, that SP mentions to him that the OCC guys were in her office that day. I believe that part of the Esquire interview was right before Christmas.
*Palin claims they aren’t rich, so there is no way that Todd can afford to buy a new racing machine every year.
*The Sports Illustrated interview (3 page spread) states that Todd gets “deep discounts” on his machine along with everything else (they were showing how some racers have to spend around $30,000. yearly just to race).
*If she is getting the previous years machines that he “rejected” then obviously he must be getting more than one if he is able to “reject” one, or he is getting to choose one and they allow her to take one that he doesn’t.
*With sponsorships comes obligations and obviously he is going to be required to advertise and promote their product especially considering the amount he is being sponsored for. When she is obviously doing it as well there is a real problem.
She is making the case for this ethics complaint easier and easier, in my opinion.
That was just pathetic. They are both using each other to promote themselves to their oil monkey audiences.
And who in will receive Alaska's 50 aniversary bike? I bike that can only be rode in most parts of Alaska for half of the year? Super snowmoblie racer, First Dude, Todd Palin perhaps? Why does this look like a scene out of Idiocracy?
Palin benefits from that sponsorship because her husband does. That's the way it works, but her getting the 'rejected' snowmachines is an added incentive in my opinion.
The Palin family benefits from this sponsorship.
The Governor should not be advertising for this company plain and simple, it is a conflict of interest and an ethical violation.
The OCC guys are nothing but a bunch of self-aggrandizing, greedy assholes whose only mission in life is promoting themselves. I have had first hand experience with them and their treatment of wounded warriors and they could care less, the arrogant bastards. Just having them in the state makes my skin crawl and makes me want to puke. The sooner their fifteen minutes of fame are over, the better. The truth ALWAYS comes out or in other ways makes itself manifest and they are long overdue. They are as patriotic as any other war profiteer.
How does she live with herself? This whole scene is superficial, commercial, and embarrassing. Everything that comes out of her mouth is meaningless gibberish. How did she get to be our governor? Oh yeah, she "represents" us. Hmm

Tell me again how that benefits Alaska?
Palin inherits whatever Todd rejects from the prior year? So, my question is did Todd pay for his snow machine or was he sponsored? hmmmmmmm????
Stay classy, Ms. Palin!

anon @ 2:27 pegged it, IMHO.
Why on earth do we have a govoner who mentions brand names? While on the job?
This is nuts.
Philip Munger said... anon @ 2:27 pegged it, IMHO.Thanks, and I suppose I should actually start signing in, now that I'm following you too...
anon @ 2:46,
from the look of the scene, I believe she's at SBS, uh, I mean home.
N0 offense, but this raving cunt from hell is your governor?
Star the wonder pup: No offense taken. I ask myself the same thing everyday, verbatum.

My next question is -
Is Palin benefitting from that sponsorship? If she inherits the smowmobile she is not paying for it.

Phill, this was shot in the Office of the Govenor.
American Chopper got free advertisement at the expense of Alaskan citizens.

The motorcycle was raffled off as a benefit for Children's Hospital at Providence.
Mae (annoy-mouse) - It was filmed in the governor's Anchorage office.
