Saradise Lost - Book 2 - Chapter 13 - Palin's Weirdness Reaches New Heights

How many governors pardon turkeys before Thanksgiving? On TV? Not many, I can assure you.

How many governors who pardon turkeys before Thanksgiving, manage to get a weird YouTube of the unpardoned turkeys, being whacked and/or bled out in the background, posted and viral within minutes? Uh, how about one.

Guess which one? Turkey, meet Dodo:

Here's the Anchorage Daily News fluff version:

Here's some of the the raw footage:

The raw footage version has (as of 11:40 p.m. Thursday) gotten 1,617 comments at Huffington Post, and 82,048 views at YouTube. It is titled at YouTube as "KTUU 2008 Sarah Palin Turkey Interview," but I can't find such raw footage at KTUU.

Interesting....

Update - Friday 10:30 a.m: 3,411 comments at HuffPo and 479,348 views at YouTube

Update - 4:45 p.m: 4,126 comments at Huffpo (slowing down), but 1,020,418 views at YouTube

Yes, folks, it's Tofurkey for Thanksgiving for me!

KTUU would never post raw footage on Youtube. The shot was obviously staged, MSNBC's version even says that she was okay with the angle.

This was not done by accident.

Obviously this got onto the NBC News Channel, a service that the network provides to affiliates.

The was shot by one of KTUU's best, Scott Jensen, an award winning photographer.

She was okay with the backdrop too, where the hell is McCallister or Leighow, not that either of those two rubes can help her.

One of the other one million communications people in her office was there, I don't know the lady's name. I think it was done on purpose as well. The camera angle definitely was on purpose, as Channel 11 pointed theirs AWAY from the...errr...carnage!

I know Scott Jensen -- he has a great sense of humor. But I probably didn't need to tell you that.

Phil...besides the carnage...you hit it...WHY THE HELL IS SHE PARDONING TURKEYS? This isn't standard governor behavior. Does she not know how obvious...oh, I know...the choir.

mudflats and shannyn hit the nail on the head. the story lost in all the carnage is that palin is the first alaska governor to pardon a turkey. makes her feel presidential. and...it feeds her clinical narcissistic personality disorder.

The whole Turkey Pardon made Palin look rediculous again. Where is her Mind??

She reminds me of Madonna. Does anyone else see a Madonna emerging?

Soooo embarassing. I wonder what really goes through head?

I called Triple D Farm and ordered a turkey. They are a lot better than that plastic wrapped stuff you get in the store.

She will lose all the vegan votes...no great loss.

lol. I love you guys. The turkey man in the back is as funny. What a ham, he thinks he is Peter Lorre.
Not sure how long this link will still have your girl on the front page, but we were not impressed in the Cleve (that's Cleveland , Ohio)here is a local rag: story http://lakewoodobserver.com/

Best of luck in the years ahead. We are pulling for you to get your gal Sarah safe and sound in the great white north and move on to better leadership.

KTUU released one version pixelating the gruesome bits on the day, then released the second, uneditted version (with the gruesome bits left in) on the next.

Sorry to disappoint- but nobody dotored the videos. Nobody ever has to dotor Palin's videos. She does moronic quite naturally :)

I saw last night on Anderson Cooper’s 360 that a statement from Palin’s spokesman had been issued in response to the heavy proliferation of the Sarah Palin Turkey Massacre video:

The statement revealed that she said she NEVER REALIZED that she’d be giving that interview with the bloody background, that the media people had SET HER UP with the positioning seen in the interview, and that she’s SORRY for any distress it caused viewers.

All easily proven to be false statements, but it’s another example of Sarah Palin seizing the moment, and the mainstream media not challenging her lies.

So, her Turkey Massacre interview was twofold: it got her “seen” again, in her 17th or 18th minute of fame, and it provided an opportunity for yet ANOTHER mention on national TV in the subsequent statement. And on and on and on, pretty soon she’ll be up to 25 minutes of dubious fame.

Now we read about multiple invitations from various well-known talk show hosts such as Oprah and Barbara Walters, etc. What are the chances all these hosts call each other up and ask, “did you really invite the Alaskan governor to appear on your show?” I’ll bet it’s another PR lie issued by Sarah Palin’s spokesman, for yet ANOTHER round of free publicity for Palin.

She may not be intelligent in the usual sense of the word, but she sure is cunning in that sneaky way you hate when you see it in one of your co-workers.

I would believe Scott Jensen before I'd believe her.

If he was smart, and he is, he was rolling tape when he asked if the backdrop was okay with her.
