Barack Obama To Campaign in Alaska?

On the eve of his Oregon primary victory, likely Democratic Party nominee for President, Barack Obama's campaign announced today that he hopes to campaign in Alaska this fall, and also hopes to visit our state after he is elected.

Kay Brown, the Party's Alaska Communications Director, sent out the following today:

The Barack Obama campaign has pledged to send Senator Obama to Alaska this fall for a brief stop, if possible, as well as a longer follow-up visit to the state after the November elections, Spanyers and Johnson said.

The Spanyers and Johnson referred to in Kay's e-mail are Alaska super delegates Cindy Spanyers of Juneau, and Blake Johnson of Kenai. They had been holding out on announcing for Sen. Clinton or Sen. Obama, until ...? ....until today.

Good!

This is great news! A visit by Obama would be huge. Not only would it help our Democrats down-ticket. It might actually put our 3 electorals in his column.
