Kelly catching some z's while we're waiting for the fishing to improve |
Kelly Walters, my son Alex and I dipnetted on the Kenai River last Wednesday. It was slow, except for a 40-minute period in the mid-afternoon. We're headed back down to catch some more.

ironically there have been swarms of sockeye there. We caught all we could eat in 10 hours. I feel sorry for set netters-- I talked with one of them and they are unemployed and bored to death. This is because apparently they get too many kings in their nets as by catch.
Forgot to say, good luck and I hope you catch your fish. But we still worry about kings here and elsewhere.
Good luck & tight lines!
Glad to hear. I must say the greatest Alaska Fly fishing adventures are available on the Kenai and in the Katmai. I love fly fisging to that place.
