The Garden is FINALLY Blooming

It was a hard June and early July for our vegetable garden.  The greenhouse did better.  But summer has finally warmed enough and given it adequate sun.  It is still far behind last year, but the crops that generally do well in Alaska are now coming into fullness.

Above - basil in the greenhouse.

Below -Fava beans:

Ripening fennel.  It is getting to be four feet tall:

Flowering dill:

Lettuce - the lettuce crop has been huge - giving a lot away:

Hey, take some of that fennel, chop it up, and stuff it into a pork loin and roast it. Think of me while you're eating it.
