AK-AL Candidate Profiles Abounding

The Anchorage print media is in the midst of a round of candidate profiles and interviews of the five candidates running for the sole U.S. House seat for Alaska, the one currently held by Rep. Don Young (R - if you voted for him).

The Anchorage Press's Brendan Joel Kelley interviewed Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell (R - Club for Growth) last month. In today's edition, he interviews Democratic Party candidate Diane Benson. Next week, Kelley will publish an interview with Democratic Party candidate Ethan Berkowitz.

The Anchorage Daily News's Sean Cockerham is even more active, with question-and-answer interviews of Gabrielle LeDoux appearing yesterday, Sean Parnell today, Don Young tomorrow, Diane Benson next Monday, and Ethan Berkowitz next Tuesday.

Meanwhile, as Young is coming under increasing fire from conservative and GOP-based groups for the conduct Diane Benson has been steadfastly criticizing for over two years, a Sean Parnell myth is being woven. The myth is that he is an enemy of idiotic spending plans, that he's a "true" conservative," and that he is a reformer. I can't wait to get back to Alaska and begin working on debunking that enormous falsehood, stick by straw at a time.

You've got my vote for Diane, Phil. Some of what Don said to Sean-- if true, guarantees it won't be for him, saying that Sarah is a crystal person who he'll crush? Damn, that's mean! My family and I get into politics for the sheer fun. We love marching in parades and supporting our faves, going out and handing out candy or little "Oriental Traders"-type toys. He's getting mean and that is a real killjoy for us.

I'll be looking forward to your eloquent unravelng of Sean's myth. I don't like him because he is a lawyer and not a great one at that!

How many times do you and Dennis have to be reminded that photo of Donus Youngus DOES scare little kids?

Gee, can't you guys put a blue blurry dot over his face or something? Maybe a limp daisy in his hand? How about one of those cardboard golden crowns you can get at a burger joint? Or a warning prior to that face appearing?

Now every parent tries to shield thier youngins from the evils of this Great Land, but ya all are scaring the crap out of my little ones with photos of the Dom.

Go Diane, you give the youth of Alaska some mighty fine hope!
