Out on the Lake With My Dog - for Bill Hess

Asking Mooch and Strider "Who wants to go out on the lake?"
Mooch says "uh, I think I'm going to stay on dry land."

Strider jumps on board. Off we go.
Drifting down into Cottonwood Creek in the canoe. A new flower.
Strider's curiosity.
Close horsetails and distant birch.
Boanaparte gulls grazing.

Nice outing Phil! I love watching the Bonaparte gulls on Cottonwood and Finger Lakes. There are not a great many of them and it's such a treat to see them.

I can't wait to get my kayaks in the water! Once all of the plants are in place in Palmer I'm going to have a weekend, dammit, a weekend on the water.

In the meantime, thanks for sharing your experience!

God loves a big black dog (and small black cats). At least that's my theory.....

I don't know if you come to Palmer often, but the gardens are looking great and we have a new large rock garden put in last year by the Alaska Rock Garden Society. It is in the main garden at the Visitor Center and it is such a fun garden. Hope you can make it by to see it.
