Late Winter Home Images

This weekend, Judy and I managed to make ourselves a nice dinner on Saturday night. My contribution was Copper River Sockeye salmon, with rosemary, garlic and black truffles:
We got almost a foot of new snow last night. Here's my VW Golf, next to the biggest snow pile, right after I finished blowing the snow out of the driveway and parking lot:

Nice! It makes me miss again my rosemary plant. Fried potatoes with rosemary would go great with the salmon.

Your wife is a lucky lady.

(Sigh!) This dish is dreamy!

anon @ 9:35,

She's fairly lucky, but I'm a truly blessed man to have her for my friend.

Yeah...late winter may be tolerable with salmon cooked like that and with a glass of wine on the side. Mmmm.

Truffles!? In Alaska?! Otherwise, you should know, even though it's 6:42 a.m. in the Eastern U.S., your salmon dinner is making me hungry. Yum!

Phil, you can come visit me any time. Just bring the truffles and I'll furnish the salmon!

Ah truffles. Enjoying good food appeases the mind.
In my experience, truffles are best with pastas or eggs : home made tagliatelles, lots of butter or good olive oil, a little salt and pepper, sprinkled with freshly grated truffles when serving. The taste of truffle just explodes in your mouth.
