Max Blumenthal Returns to the Land of Queen Esther

This coming Saturday and Sunday, progressive author, videographer, journalist and blogger, Max Blumenthal will be returning to Alaska, almost exactly one year after his research here on then-Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, work which immensely helped define her followers to the real middle America, not the one Palin pretended she represented.

Max is currently on a tour, promoting his new book, Republican Gomorrah. Some of Alaska's progressive bloggers, including Progressive Alaska, What Do I Know?, Just a Girl from Homer, the Immoral Minority and Celtic Diva's Blue Oasis - among others - have referred often to Max's work in our essays, and have asked him to come up here for three appearances during a two-day gap in his string of public appearances.

His publisher isn't paying for Max's return to The Land of Queen Esther. Instead, we're trying to raise the money for the trip's expenses - his plane fare from Seattle to Anchorage, & from Anchorage to Portland Oregon, and the fees for rental of the Fine Arts Recital Hall at UAA, ourselves. With your help.

Please help by contributing to the account PA has set up expressly for this trip. The button is at the upper right of this page, and doesn't require for YOU to be a paypal member.

Meanwhile, here is the most recent of Max's recent national media appearances, this one on the Laura Flanders Show:

Here's Max's video, made at the 9/12 Teabagger rally - the Million-Moran March - in Washington DC:

Here's Bill Moyers' use of some of Max's footage at the demonstration:

And here's one of Max's two videos made a year ago, from his trip to Alaska:

Here's a link to further links to many of Max's recent national media appearances.

Here's a link to my Saturday essay on Max's emergence as a mature author (more on that soon).

Here's a link to Steve's essay on the religious right, from today at What Do I Know?

In that essay, Steve refers to the many fine posts published recently by Linda at Celtic Diva's Blue Oasis, that cites the recent, very important books by Max Blumenthal and Frank Schaeffer.

Phil, I'm happy to donate. I'm looking forward to Max's appearance at the UU church which is half a block from us. Thanks for doing this.

If anti-Obama protesters are those who suck testicles are Obama supporters his cock-suckers ? Is that infantile enough for you "progressives" ?

Anonymous, the "teabaggers" brought this on themselves. They're the ones who chose to call their demonstrations "teabag parties," if I remember correctly. They should have done their research on modern slang terminology.

Here is a link to another story, from Max. After the recent article in the ADN about home schooling, this caught my attention:

Phil...I watched Max on Morning Joe today. He did very well, and Joe to my surprise had not much to say. They showed clips of Max's video of the tea baggers, and Joe hung his head in shame. Even he is saying, that Repub leaders MUST call out the idiocy of the lies.

I'm glad he's talking about this nationally!

Please keep him safe while in Alaska!

this is from another of Max's reports.

"Though McCain-Palin campaign condemned the report on her links to the AIP piece as a “smear,” the facts went unchallenged.

The campaign would not, and could not, discredit the revelation that Palin worked hand-in-glove with former AIP chairman Mark Chryson to undermine the character of her opponent in Wasilla’s 1996 mayoral election and sought to advance Chryson’s agenda once she was elected. As Chryson told us, Palin supported his lobbying to loosen local gun control laws, an effort he initiated to facilitate the formation of anti-government “Patriot” militias. Palin also invited him before Wasilla’s city council to denounce a local ordinance to ban guns from schools and bars.

The McCain-Palin campaign also offered no explanation for why Palin attempted to appoint Steve Stoll, a John Birch Society activist, to the city council seat she had vacated, overlooking Stoll’s reputation in Wasilla as “Black Helicopter Steve,” a conspiratorial figure rumored to have buried high-powered automatic weapons in his front yard in case the New World Order arrived. When a council member who considered him a “violent influence” blocked Stoll’s nomination, Palin considered consulting attorneys about a backdoor means of appointing him."

Just wondering here...why do you call it the "Land of Queen Esther"?

"a conspiratorial figure rumored to have buried high-powered automatic weapons in his front yard in case the New World Order arrived."

Talk about clutching for straws ! "Rumored" is "progressive" speak for "we have no proof whatsoever but because we think it's possible it's probably true.' Also , why would someone bury weapons in their front-yard, in full view of neighbors ? Why not the back-yard?

Hooray ! Blumenthal is coming to town ! Just what Alaska needs ...another pro-Hamas, anti-Israel, anti-Christian hater !!!

So...why do you call it the "Land of Queen Ester"?

@1:14 - Because, in Sept. '08, Rev. Muthee (you know, the guy who attacks "witches") returned to the Mat-Su valley and spoke at a small house belonging to the Wasilla Assembly of God. In a sermon, Rev. Muthee preached that Queen Esther was the relevant model for Sarah Palin's VP nomination and was Palin's Biblical role model. With her beauty pageant ways, Palin would/should seduce her way to change the world into what the Dominionists want.

Sounds like both sides here are a bit confused over the story of Queen Esther. Then again you can't trust a Gentile/Christian whether they are left, right, up or down with a story from the Hebrew Bible because they will twist it around to suit themselves constantly.
So I suggest Phil Munger, Pastor Muthee and the rest of you turds stick to f'ing up your own Bibical stories and leave ours alone...thanks for the reply though.

Well, Anon, I am merely giving you the report of why Palin self-identifies with Queen Esther as reported by the press. You might want to write to her about it directly, or those in the Wasilla Assembly of God if you find it so objectionable. I don't know why you had to call me a name; I was merely informing you of something you didn't know. You asked for background; I provided it. You're welcome.

I don't know why you figure I was picking you out personally. I called a number of people "turds" and not just those on the left either.
Besides, I can bet you there are plenty on the right that read this blog just as much as those on the left.
So get over yourself...*laughing*

You need to get over yourself Anon 3:05 PM. I used the term turd to address a wide range of people.
