PA Arts Sunday - June 14, 2009 - Peter Dunlap-Shohl Pegs Prevo's Phoniness

Retired Anchorage Daily News illustrator and cartoonist, Peter Dunlap-Shohl has a blog, where he mostly posts cartoons, with some commentary. He's more unplugged than he was at the ADN. I've added Peter's blog to the Progressive Alaskan Blogs blogroll.

I'll take this opportunity to update all the blogrolls here today. Here's what is being added:

Progressive Alaskan Blogs:

Alaskan Eyrie
- Steven's blog on Alaska issues, written from Eagle River. Steven is an ex-Marine - oh, wait! There's no such thing as an EX-Marine. He served in the USMC for five years. I met Steve last year, during the campaigns and at the Democratic Party convention.

Frozen Grin - Peter's cartoon and commentary blog.

Gurney to the Dark Side - Peter's cartoon and commentary blog on health care, an issue Peter has followed for a long time.

No Trawl Zone - Eumetopius' progressive comments about over-fishing the oceans and rivers, from a progressive perspective.

Palingates - This blog is very handy for keeping up with the Palins. I was reluctant to categorize it as progressive, but it seems to have drifted in the progressive direction steadily. Regina's writing is solid, and her sense of humor is right up there with AK Muckraker, Gryph and Shannyn Moore.

Important Alaskan Blogs - Not Necessarily Progressive:

Etaoin Shrldu - Ex- Anchorage Daily News editor and columnist Howard Weaver's blog. Though Howard is remembered as having been fairly progressive, his blog isn't. It is mostly about writing, reading, and what he views as the unnecessary demise of print journalism.

He appears to be migrating to twitter. His explanation of "why?" is interesting.

It might be an adventure watching Howard migrate. I'm debating whether or not to start participating in twitter.
